PRESS RELEASE: Wintervale 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BURLINGTON, VT - The Intervale Center’s “Wintervale” returns on Sunday, February 22nd, from 11 am - 2 pm. Wintervale is an annual celebration of winter recreation and outdoor education. It is free to the community, and will take place snow, rain, or shine!
In partnership with Burlington Wildways, Burlington Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront, and the Winooski Valley Parks District, Wintervale will be a fun-filled day packed with activities for the whole family. Snow permitting, there will be free cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals and guided skis – provided by SkiRack Burlington, Catamount Trails Association, and Burlington Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront – that visitors can use on the Intervale Center’s more than 3 miles of trails.
Free educational activities include: a winter wildlife tracking walk led by Vermont Fish and Wildlife; a raptor meet and greet hosted by VINS; a tree identification walk led by Burlington Wildways; and more! You can sign up in advance to join a walk or ski – spots are limited!
The day will also include a bonfire, s’mores station, and a community chili cook-off. Enter your chili, or vote for your favorite. The winner will win a prize donated by Patagonia BTV. Additionally, food and drink are generously donated by Skinny Pancake and Lake Champlain Chocolates.
Wintervale is made possible by our amazing sponsors: City Market and Natural Mattress Company. More event details can be found www.intervale.org/wintervale.
