2026 Event Staff

Summary of position:

The Event Staff person will provide support to events like weddings, parties, business meetings, and partnered events using Intervale Center facilities by answering questions, troubleshooting, opening and closing buildings before and after events, and being a main contact in case of emergencies. Events take place during evenings and weekends.

Part-time, seasonal: 8 – 16 hours/week from May – October 2026

2026 Land Stewardship Land Stewardship Assistant

Summary of Position:

From May-October, the Land Stewardship Assistant provides a high level of service to Intervale Center staff, program partners, and farm tenants by supporting day-to-day groundskeeping and maintenance. This position supports the maintenance of all Intervale land and structural assets, including buildings and facilities, trails and trail-markers, tools and equipment, event space and farmland. The Lands Tech works closely with the Land Manager and Land Stewardship team on both special projects and weekly tasks. 

This position is based in person at the Intervale Center in Burlington, VT.

2026 Food Hub Gleaning Assistant

Summary of Position:

The seasonal Food Hub Gleaning Assistant works collaboratively with the Intervale Food Hub team to support our seasonal Fair Share CSA, gleaning efforts, and food distribution from late June to late October. They will participate in weekly gleaning efforts and facilitate volunteer groups on various farms within the Intervale and Chittenden County, working closely with the Food Access Manager. This position will assist in the distribution of produce at our weekly Fair Share CSA pick-up where we provide gleaned, grown, purchased, and donated produce for free to 350 families each week, July through October, creating a convenient, dignified, safe, and welcoming experience for members. They will also provide support as needed to community food production spaces, the People’s Farm and Garden, and work closely with the Food Hub Operations & Outreach Coordinator to support the Food Hub’s sales and services. This position is part of the Intervale Food Hub team and reports to the Food Access Manager.

This position will run from June 25th through October 27th.

Seasonal, Full-time, Hourly, 40 hours/week.

INTERNSHIPS

2026 Food Access Intern

Summary of Position:

The Food Access Intern will support the distribution of produce shares during Fair Share, participate in our volunteer-powered growing space called the People's Farm, and support weekly gleaning efforts on farm fields throughout the county. The intern will also write a weekly newsletter circulated to 1,000+ Fair Share members highlighting farms, storage tips, and weekly recipes and help collect feedback from program participants throughout the season.

This internship is a dynamic opportunity that involves growing food, gleaning food, and interfacing with the community distributing food every week.

This internship will run from June 29th through October 26th.

Seasonal, Part-time, 13 hours/week, or ~220 hours over the course of the internship
