Directly support the Intervale Conservation Nursery’s work to protect and steward the natural environment as the foundation of our food system. Help grow tens of thousands of native trees and shrubs that are critically needed to restore Vermont’s watersheds. Expand the Nursery’s capacity to educate and engage the community in ecological stewardship.

Position is Full Time (1720 hours), starting January 12 and ending December 10, 2027

The Intervale Center’s mission is to strengthen community food systems that sustain farms, land, and people.

The Nursery Operations Assistant will:

· Lead and organize groups of volunteers for Nursery projects

· Create meaningful workplans for interns and university-level students to engage with Nursery operations that balance their education goals with Nursery operational needs

· Support Nursery through seed and cutting collection, plant propagation, and greenhouse tasks

· Conduct field maintenance including weeding, irrigation, transplanting, and harvesting of native trees

· Conduct land stewardship projects at the Intervale Center
