Summer is flying by at the Intervale Center! From berry harvests and native seed collection to invasive species removal, fresh food distribution, and community events, it’s been a busy season made possible by the volunteers, farmers, partners, and supporters who keep this place thriving.

Great local food systems depend on strong community partnerships. This summer and fall, you can support both the Intervale Center and the local breweries and restaurants that are helping strengthen our food system – one drink at a time.

🍸 Cocktails for a Cause at Waterworks Food + Drink
All August, $1 from every "Garden Party" cocktail at Waterworks Food + Drink will be donated to the Intervale Center. The "Garden Party" is a refreshing drink made with Black Flannel Aquavit, celery bitters, mint tea syrup, fresh lime, and tonic water.

🥕 New Story: Broadening Local Food Access and Impact
This time of year, the Intervale Food Hub team and dedicated volunteers (volunteer with us!) are busy travelling around the state to glean, or harvest surplus produce, from farms.

Stewardship in Action: Harvesting and Habitats
Caring for the land is a year-round effort at the Intervale Center, and summer brings some of the busiest work. As native fruits ripen and invasive plants reach peak growth, staff and volunteers are helping care for the landscape in meaningful ways.
Help harvest berries that will be distributed for free at Fair Share as more fruit ripens in the coming weeks, or join our Wednesday morning stewardship shifts with Burlington Wildways to tackle persistent invasive knotweed and restore native habitat.

Now in its fourth season of seed collection, the Riparian Lands Native Seed Partnership continues connecting partners across Vermont to collect native seeds for restoration projects.
