Ben Siegal, Conservation Nursery Crew
Ben is joining the nursery for a third year as a Conservation Nursery Planting and Stewardship crew member. He hails from the swamps, bogs, and forests of the Massachusetts/ New Hampshire border, where he spent his childhood covered in mud, dirt, and leaves, laughing all the while. As a lifelong lover of the great outdoors, he is beyond happy to have found a way to spend the majority of the year outside, doing meaningful, tangible work to protect the environment, and ensure the longevity and health of Vermont's landscape, a place he is proud to call home. Though his work experience has ranged from farming and landscaping to teaching, cooking, and even a stint as an art museum security guard, Ben is happiest outdoors. Aside from his conservation work, Ben is a poet, performer, tinkerer, snowboarder, hiker. and general adventurer. He is most often found deep in the woods on a riverbank, alongside his relentless companion, his fearless hound, and best friend Leo the dog.
