Alyson Chalnick

As a new Vermonter looking to connect with the community, Alyson attended Dinner in the Trees at the Intervale Center on a beautiful summer night in August.  She was immediately drawn to the mission and wonderful staff, and wanted to become more involved.  Alyson continued to attend events and helped on a few shifts distributing meals for Everyone Eats.  The next spring, Alyson was invited to join the Mid-Summer Feast committee and has helped with this event for the past three years.  Alyson received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Bank Street College in NYC and taught Kindergarten and First Grade before raising her four children In Millburn, N.J.  She is currently the Internship Coordinator for Common Roots in South Burlington which shares a similar mission towards land stewardship, food security and community connection.  Alyson has also served on the South Burlington Land Trust for almost three years working to help preserve open space.  Alyson is a certified yoga teacher, and is passionate about the environment, gardening, and all things outdoors.
