Marcella Gange

Marcella has worked with the Community and Economic Development Office of the City of Burlington since 2014. She leads programs and builds partnerships with community organizations to reduce poverty and build equity in our Chittenden County community, managing a variety of federal and state funding.

Originally from the UK, Marcella moved to Burlington with her family in January 2012 bringing with her the experience of 20 years of working overseas with non-profits and international organizations in countries in transition and post-conflict. Her keen interest in food systems and food security began with an undergraduate degree in food science and has been shaped by her work and experience in international development.  Discovering the Intervale, joining the Intervale Community Farm, and connecting to our local food systems were some of grounding events that first made Burlington feel like home.  Marcella is very honored to be joining the board of the Intervale Center.
