Increasing access to local food in Vermont

At the Intervale Center we believe that all Vermonters should have access to fresh, locally-grown food. In 2023, our Food Access team worked with 35 farmers and producers both in the Intervale and around Chittenden County to harvest high-quality produce for our food access programs. This year we have already distributed more than 84,000 pounds of food to the greater Burlington community and our work isn't done yet!

The Fair Share assured me that I could have access to fresh produce that I love and depend on.”

“I lost my job this year and this program was a lifesaver. I was still able to feed my kiddos fresh veggies even with a huge loss of income. I appreciate the program and the amazing staff more than I can ever express.

By the way, did you hear?! Our Food Hub team is excited to be expanding our programs by launching ARLO Market - a new monthly wintertime pop-up for Affordable, Reliable, LOcal food. Our first market will be today at the ONE Community Center!
