Travis Marcotte, the Intervale Center’s Director of Agricultural Development Services, discusses a new rotational pasture system with livestock producer Mitchel Richardson in North Hero. Richardson is a client of the Intervale Center’s Success on Farms program, funded through farm viability funds of the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board.

Collaboration Allows Expansion

Success on Farms will be collaborating with High Fields Institute to expand a compost operation at the Sandberg Farm, a small diversified farm in Corinth, Vermont. This school and restaurant food scrap collection wagon is necessary to support the expansion.

Dave Quickel and Emma Burros of Stony Loam Farm manage a 125-member organic vegetable CSA in Charlotte. They are receiving business planning and production assistance that will help the farm expand its CSA membership as they move their production to a new 32 acres of conserved land, also in Charlotte.
